Business week is back this year and will be showcasing support to local businesses at a time when they need it most. During the week, which runs from November 7 to 11, a series of online and face-to-face events will be held for businesses of all sizes across the Fife region. The events will range from a workshop on how to use keywords in your marketing to a seminar on the top five cyber threats facing small businesses, as well as sessions on getting tender ready and upskilling the workforce.
The business week will also include a meet the buyer event that will connect local suppliers with public sector buyers and prime private sector contractors. As part of the broader business growth offer, Business Gateway is also launching a new contract for a network of contracted Business Growth Advisers. The contract is worth up to £1m over three years and will be delivered by a team of locally-based business advisers.
The contracts will be based on an annual number of hours, which will equate to a certain amount of days per week for 45 weeks. Successful bidders will not be employed by Business Gateway Fife but will operate as independent contractors. This means that they will be required to make themselves available to undertake their services at a variety of locations and times, including clients’ premises.
Tributes have been paid to Cupar stalwart and floral expert Mary Law, who has died at the age of 80. Mary was a founder member of Cupar in Bloom, and was the driving force behind the town’s success in winning gold awards at both Beautiful Scotland and Beautiful Fife competitions.
