Desert Safari in Abu Dhabi – Best Evening Tour

When all of the vehicles arrived, the actual dune driving began! The cars were lined up in a row. Our car took third place, providing us with breathtaking vistas. Without a question. Because these dunes shift with the wind, I’m not sure how the driver in front finds his path!

Nonetheless, dune driving was a lot of fun! My emotions were torn between fear and elation. As the slopes and descents became more prominent. The sand rose beside my window with vigor. While our vehicle gently floated over the sand. We passed through numerous sand hills, which were quite stunning. Aris displayed remarkable driving abilities.

At the Desert Safari Abu Dhabi, we came to a halt to honor the camels

During a desert safari in Abu Dhabi, the Land Cruisers made a stop at a camel ranch. To be honest, our foreign friend had planned this safari vacation while keeping the rest of us in the dark about the details. Even now, I’m not sure which desert we were in. Furthermore, the sight of several camels encircling the area perplexed me. I could only conclude that the landscape was littered with camel droppings.

As the day drew to a close, we had the option of sandboarding, camel rides, or watching the breathtaking sunset. After an amazing bout of dune driving, we arrived at the Bedouin camp. It includes a variety of events. Including an Arabic dinner. When I arrived at the camp, I noticed the sun starting to set. 

The desert horizon, painted with a sunset evocative of vivid egg yolk, was a mesmerizing sight. Many remained unconscious, immersed in their pursuits, as the final rays softly faded away. The brief event was over in minutes. I feel quite privileged to have witnessed that. In addition to the Abu Dhabi desert safari, one should try the jet ski tour from Dubai.

A possibility to sandboard on the sweeping sand hills arose just beyond the camp. Simply grab an available sandboard, climb the dune, and try to drop. Based on what I saw, it appeared pretty difficult unless you ventured to a big height at the dune’s summit.

A pair of camels were also available for guests to saddle and ride. A guide would take the camels on a brief tour. Each camel could accommodate one to two riders, and the event would be over quickly.

I pondered whose work was more difficult: the camels or the person pacing in circles incessantly. I’m looking forward to riding a camel in the desert. I was discouraged to see the camels continuously kneel and stand. Their demeanor was solemn, with what appeared to be tear marks on their eyes. As a result, I abandoned the notion and settled for taking images instead.

Traditional activities & Arabian BBQ dinner!

A variety of activities, including the opportunity to dress in traditional attire, awaited inside the encampment. Engage in fascinating photoshoots and cover your hands with the exquisite designs of a henna artist. You could even have a real falcon settle on your arm for an outstanding photograph. Surprisingly, all of these events are included in your package at no extra cost.

The supper event featured a self-serve buffet format, allowing visitors to select their chosen cuisines. The food was adequate – neither amazing nor dreadful. Furthermore, chilled canned soft drinks were freely available in infinite quantities.

The grand finale was an enthralling belly dancing performance! Our driver emphasized that the artist was unrivaled in the region. Moreover, her amazing abilities validated his allegation. She exuded grace and executed her maneuvers with unrivaled perfection. Towards the finish. She extended an invitation to the dinner attendees, who looked to have a great time joining her on stage!

Several floodlights in the campsite were turned off after the performance. I sat on luxurious sofas, staring up into a magnificent expanse filled with many stars. It felt like life had achieved its zenith of perfection. We thought our desert excursion was over and started walking and the exit. 

However, just as we were about to arrive at our destination, an announcement came over the speakers. It declares that all lights will be turned off to allow an uninterrupted view of the starry sky!

The encounter was simply wonderful! We wished for more time, hesitant to leave such enchantment.

Important considerations before starting on a desert safari adventure in Abu Dhabi:

It is recommended that people who are prone to motion sickness take motion sickness medication. Before embarking on the desert safari tour, take some ginger pills, such as Blackmore’s.

Without question, the best seating position is the front seat next to the driver. However, the other seats are still reasonably comfy, so there’s no need to be concerned about sharing them with others. 

In our situation, there were six passengers minus the driver, therefore the Land Cruiser worked only as a private vehicle for our group.

Restrooms are accessible at the Bedouin camp, and they are modern and sanitary.

In terms of dune-bashing safety, the interiors of the Land Cruiser are fortified to reduce the likelihood of accidents. While this is a generalization, we never felt in danger because our driver demonstrated outstanding ability and professionalism.
